Position Description

Client Overview: Our client, a 100 year old specialized service organization with offices in over 30 countries, is known for their excellence in innovative services for clients in oil and gas, petrochemical, engineering and environmental industries and has retained us to conduct an executive search assignment for Chief Financial Officer.

Reports to: President

Position Summary:

The Chief Financial Officer will serve as an integral part of the senior management team in directing the continued growth of the organization and advising and balancing the interest of management and directors of the company. Exceptional leadership at the strategic level is required. Will serve as the senior executive responsible for overseeing financial functions including internal reporting, accounting, treasury, monthly P&L, audit and tax matters as well as financial planning, purchasing, budgeting, real estate, insurance and human resources.


Essential Skills and Experience:

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with a Masters or CPA preferred. This individual will have 10-15 years of finance and accounting experience in an oil and gas, engineering, petrochemical or service organization, be results oriented and possess hands-on experience in building and leading an exceptional team in the ongoing management and enhancement of an organizations' accounting and financial planning practices. This individual should also have ongoing relationships with lending institutions, shareholders, and the financial community. Previous international experience with responsibility over South and Central America is essential and the ability to speak Spanish is preferable. This consensus builder will possess compelling evidence of leadership behavior, a high energy level, excellent communication skills and the capability to relate to and establish credibility with all levels of individuals in operations and finance, from CEO and the executive management team to accounting and operations support personnel. This individual will possess exceptional organizational and planning skills, be detailed oriented and have demonstrated experience in providing strategic direction and management of financial principles and practices for a growing, global organization. Previous experience with SAP, mergers and acquisitions and information technology is desirable. This highly visible executive leader shall possess the capability to develop the bench strength passion for excellence in financial planning and accounting practices and elevate it to the next level.
